Dongmen Dumpling House was established in 1961. At the beginning, it was only a food stall at the corner of Jinshan Street (now Jinshan South Road) and Xinyi Road.

Gradually the food stall started accumulating its customers to the point that a tiny food stall couldn’t handle the inflow. So in 1968, the store moved to the current address, at 31 Alley, Section 2, on Jinshan South Road.

The dumpling house started with just selling pork flavored dumplings, but now has a multitude of dumpling flavors as well as steamed dumplings, pot-stickers, soupy noodles and sour cabbage pork hot pot. Not only is this dumpling house a favorite spot for the locals, it has also gained support from friends visiting from abroad. Now, especially during weekends and holidays, Dongmen Dumpling House continues to be packed with customers.
