Located in the East District of Taipei, Goodies Cuisine is often on top of the list of popular restaurants for dates and gatherings! If I had to choose one word to describe the place, I’d probably say it is “comforting.” Their mainly wooden decor is like an European bistro with just the right amount of dim, yellow lights--creating a comforting atmosphere. And, just as its name, “Goodies Cuisine,” suggests, they only sell the good stuff and put in extra efforts in making their food and desserts--bringing a comforting dining experience to your table.

The first thing you have to try is the house specialty: Goodie Cuisine’s Tomahawk Pork with Mustard Seed Sauce. This unique, Taiwanese flavored dish uses locally-farmed pork that were fed natural probiotics so the meat is tender, sweet, and doesn’t retain a gamey flavor. Grilled with a coat of golden sauce makes it a feast for the eyes and its slightly charred fragrance is definitely appetizing!

A really good banana pie is hard to come by, especially for those who aren’t dessert fanatics, some banana pies are just too sweet to stomach. But Goodies Cuisine’s banana pie is layered with fresh banana slices, custard and fresh whip cream--a combination that is sweet, but not too sweet, and easy to chow down on!

Goodies Cuisine’s fruit mille-feuille is one of their most popular desserts. It takes a lot of work to create this masterpiece and only fresh, in-season fruits are used to balance the layer upon layer of fresh cream; using the fruits tartness to even out the cream’s sweetness makes the whole dessert light and heavenly--definitely a great choice for those who don’t usually have a sweet tooth.
